Couples Therapy
For couples building one family out of two histories.
When you both want the same thing, but…
You keep missing each other trying to reach it.
It was supposed to be a regular Tuesday dinner. Your kids from your first marriage were at the table with his daughter, and someone asked a small question about the weekend schedule. You answered one way. He answered another. The kids went quiet.
You finished the meal talking about the food, the dog… anything else. Later that night, one of you said, “I’m done for tonight,” and closed the bedroom door a little harder than usual.

Neither of you slept well. Neither of you said the real thing in the morning, either.
This is where so many blended Hispanic families find themselves.
Two people who love each other, who prayed about this union, who genuinely want to build something together, speaking different languages inside the same kitchen.
His mother calls three times a day. Your ex partner coordinates pickups. The kids are adjusting, a little bit by little.
And somewhere in the middle of all of it, the two of you became roommates rather than soulmates, managing a household instead of sharing a life.

You have to get to what’s beneath the arguments.
This is what I want you both to hear. The repetitive argument is almost never about what it looks like on the surface.
When you circle back to the same conflict about her mother, his weekends, the money, the kids, each of you is actually reaching for something underneath, to feel seen, to feel respected, to feel like a team.
Using EFT as the heart of our work together, along with somatic and reframing tools when they fit, we slow those moments down and find the tender need hiding inside the argument.
Couples therapy is REAL work.
I’ll be up front with you about that.
You’ll both be asked to look at patterns you inherited from your own families, to examine what each culture taught you about marriage, gender, faith, and obligation, and to decide together what you want to carry forward and what the two of you get to rewrite.
For couples who want it, we honor the faith tradition you share and bring it gently into the room.
This is the “system update” your relationship has been asking for.
Let’s rebuild your relationship bridge, little by little.
In therapy, you learn to recognize the early signal before the silence sets in.
You develop a shared language for the hard conversations about extended family and the children.
Your home begins to feel like a secure sanctuary again, a true harbor for everyone under your roof.
Sessions are available in English or Spanish, in-person in DFW or by telehealth across Texas.
